The scheme is inspired by StartUp Britain’s StartUp High Street campaign and is intended to raise awareness of the importance of independent retailers to Britain’s economic health.

Maria Allen Jewellery founder Maria Allen said: “I think that the idea of PopUp Britain is fantastic and I’m really glad to be taking part. My jewellery business is run online so getting the chance to sell in a pop- up shop for two weeks means that I can meet my customers, they can see my jewellery in person and I love hearing feedback from them on my designs.

“It can be a great chance for small businesses to test the market and see what it is like to run a shop. I think that all six of the businesses currently taking part make a great collective.”
